I tend to not discount people's English language acumen when English is not their primary language. Think about it. How many English speakers are fluent in more than one language, or, like myself, are barely literate in our primary language? I deal with people from all over the world, and am always impressed by people who can converse in my primary language as well as I am able, and those who may have small difficulties with syntax, etc, are still able to convey their ideas to me despite many language shortcomings. |
