Your first programming job

Hello Hackernews,

I'm slowly getting better and better with my PHP skills and slowly searching for PHP internship positions in London, and why not, the world.

I've noticed a distinct difficulty in getting jobs as a majority of jobs I've found listed require a couple of years experience in the field. Fair enough, training inexperienced people can be tough.

To help me in my quest for employment in the PHP development field I have a question,

How did you get your first job in programming?
