Based on my experience working for various companies, I feel it is beneficial in long-term to be loyal to people instead of entities like companies. Be loyal to your coworkers and colleagues, because they are going to remember your hard work and helping hand in-time of need, instead of a "company". People run companies and a company's memory comes and goes with the people who work in that company. We all wish that being loyal to a company would make a company loyal to us, but we don't live in a perfect world and instead being loyal to people seem like more practical way of living.

This. The reason I've stuck through some complete bullshit is because I valued the team, not the company involved in creating the dream team by mere happenstance.
