Unfortunately, too long has passed and any misconduct in the investigations has been prescribed so noone will be prosecuted or even get a slap on the wrist. Most people involved have already retired as well after building their careers on the case. However, on the bright side there will be investigations to see how the current system can be improved to reduce the chances of repeating it in the future. For example, in important cases there may be appointed a secondary prosecutor whose role is to be critical of the investigation. |
