These aren't the sort of in-app purchases that are the problem. I've happily purchased each expansion pack in Galaxy on Fire 2 and similar for loads of games. I don't see a problem with this, or for having to pay to unlock the full version

What I do have a problem with, and have refused to spend a single cent on, are anything going by the name of "coins", "gems", "gold" etc. These are the disease the app store needs a way to remove

basically, the tldr is that you (and most people, incl me) are willing to pay for real value (i.e., real content), where as these virtual items (which costs nothing to create) is obviously worth nothing and so no one should pay for them.
