There are a lot of counterpoints here saying that fixed-price is better for us as consultants.

But this article is saying hourly-billing is better for the CLIENT.

I think this is an important distinction. Obviously there are advantages for us to doing value-based fixed-price billing, but that says nothing about the merits to our clients. If you don't do hourly billing, you should be aware of these potential gotchas, and be aware that some clients won't work with you.
