I had a moment just like this. We would be short $20k on payroll and the founders and myself and to come up with the difference. That sucked. Reality really sinks in when you are not in a good place to write those checks but you write them anyways. It was the responsible thing to do. Also, don't be a dick. Inform your employees that they need to keep their options open. My biggest regret was allowing my VC to convince me to not worry about money...but you live & learn. |
