I agree with this. I don't know about the situation in Turkey, but definitely, average salary is not the measure of people's well-being at all. If peaceful citizens go to the streets to protest, they really feel that something is going wrong. Last year, autocratic government of Russia unleashed repressions agains their own citizens, and it was (and is) really ugly. I hope that people of Turkey will withstand the violent actions of the government, and their voice will be heard. |
