Agreed. I've worked at a company that owned the IP to a CRM-type system fully bought and paid for by a major car maker. The car maker paid my employer millions to develop the system over several years, and then willingly gave up the IP for it at the end of the process. My employer was then able to go and sell other similar businesses on the same software. It's surprising, but common. |
