It seems pretty obvious that they want to replace your Roku (easy - nobody owns Roku content) and your AppleTV (harder, iTunes lock in) and everything else in the ecosystem. The desire to be the "one" box people have in their living room is pretty clear. I'm not sure how this will interop with common devices like AV receivers (HDMI issues?) but it will obviously need to play nice to capture the mid-to-high-end of the market. |
