Agree. This work claims that there is no goal in their implementation of intelligence, but forget the goal of "capturing as many future-histories as possible". With a right amount of tolerance for vagueness, it is not that hard to convince oneself that this goal can explain a lot of behaviors. But saying the same thing with new words is not very useful in cognitive science. A more interesting question to me is this: could Dr. Wissner-Gross use his own theory to explain physicists' (including his own) obsession with cognitive science, a field they know next to nothing? |
