Any plans to build this into Firefox? I could definetely see this as some kind of account to sync our Firefox, better browser integration.

IIRC Firefox had a plan for BrowserID something along these lines.

Yep! The Persona implementation of BrowserID is already built into FirefoxOS. It should come to Desktop Firefox later this year.
