Hi, dotCloud employee here. You're missing the 24x7 on call engineers who monitor your application, the single-command scaling, the built-in metrics and logging, and the easy deployments, at a minimum.

The way I look at it, personally, is that we're not hardware providers. Instead, we provide some level of "ops as a service" -- partially through tooling and partially through highly skilled engineers.
