I have been surprised to observe the number of older people who still click on the up and down arrows in order to scroll. Moving the cursor onto the scroll arrows takes precision and for someone with poor mouse skills is even more difficult.

Using the keyboard shortcuts is just faster and more convenient if you don't have a scroll wheel.
