This is all an assumption but: With the amount of stuff that gets simulated on their servers, the sim city servers are probably more resource intensive than even really popular FPS servers. That means they're also more expensive per person than most other game servers. What happens when it's no longer profitable for EA to keep them running? I doubt they'll release the source code. |
