You don't need to fork Android as such. There is a huge uptake of Android Smart TV sticks amongst hobbyists and early adopters and it already works fairly well. XMBC has been ported and there are more and more apps in the Play Store specifically aimed at this market. Stick a custom launcher on it and plug in a remote and you're away. This is still early days but it looks like Android TV is happening despite Google rather than because of them. |
