Seriously. I find Apple's UI to be really frustrating to use. And honestly, I can't go back after switching to XMonad.

I have many happy coworkers who use Macs, but please don't make me use one.

Likewise. In fact, I like the Windows (7) UI better. I'm a full time desktop Linux user, but that's not for the desktop. I'd be happy with Windows as UI on top for "desktop stuff".

Note: I've been using macs daily, for hours from OS 6 to OSX 10.3, before I started using Windows and Linux more.

A X11 window manager can only manage X11 apps.
There's nothing keeping you from using the same X11 apps on OS X as you do on Linux.
Fair enough. I was super into XMonad when I used Linux, but never really found the need on Mac OS. I remember reading up on this topic back then, maybe that's why I didn't make the switch.
Those instructions are rather outdated; they don't work well with Lion or later.
