Most of the car is built by hand. Robots move the vehicle along the production line, perform a lot of the body and frame spot welding, and stamp aluminum panels. Most of the work is done by people. Right now the car is still evolving--both design and manufacturing is changing (literally) daily. It doesn't make sense to use robots yet. Source: I toured the factory last week. |
