It took a while to understand the mechanism exactly, but it was always clear that it had to do with fluid turbulence, which is extremely hard to model. The claim that "science says bees can't possibly fly" was always wrong, based on models for static wings that just don't apply, as everyone with an inch of competence knew all along. |
