It seems people often use the excuse that a smartphone allows them to easily perform time-wasting or rude behavior as legitimate reasons for not using those devices, even though they admit specific benefits these items provide. Similar arguments could be made about using a any type of phone at all; just go visit people. Repeat with car, television, radio, etc. You've identified behaviors you feel detrimental. That, in itself, is extremely useful. Now you can go back to using your smartphone, and try to minimize those behaviors while still enjoying the benefits of your smartphone. Let's not blame our tools for our own bad habits. |
