What's wrong with "This is the first we've heard of this. We'll go talk to him and get back to you once we understand what's going on better; we have no further comment at this time"? It's unreasonable for MIT's lawyers to be aware of every single research project, but they know that. They should be willing to tell other people "we're not aware yet, but we'll make ourselves aware". |
