I'd imagine they would be using whatever was popular in bordering US states at the time: a lot of this was actually privately purchased across the border (not straw purchased by the DOJ unlike today) This was right before, concurrently, and shortly following World War I. So I'd imagine looking at ammunition advertisements (particularly from, e.g., El Paso, TX newspapers) around that time would help. |
