I definitely agree that so much of the magic of gaming during that era was moving from the command prompt to seeing the computer explode with color and sound. That said, the thing my friends and I enjoyed the most about Monkey Island was reading the dialog out loud to each other, like a play. The dialog might be childish (we were children) but I think it was pretty funny. |
