Interesting - I have no experience with refern.app but my couple month impression of digiKam is that it's quite flexible in terms of tagging and organization. It's also quite fast for my ~20GB collection of photos. It is definitely geared towards photography so many of the utilities (geotagging, camera metadata) might be useless for you. |
