This may unironically be the best application for the Blockchain. Vote on permissioned-node-only chain --> 30 seconds where you can verify how your vote was recorded --> Vote anonymized but not stripped of all data --> a quorum of state/provincial election boards can audit the results as adversarially as they'd like. This probably needs to happen, as we're fast entering the "governments are just making things up and/or banning parties they don't like" phase. |

Also one doesn't need to be a programmer to monitor paper voting.
Also, I do not see how blockchain can be used here. Are you suggesting that anyone, including foreign governments, can launch a node and "mine" votes? And whoever has more computing power, has more votes, like in Bitcoin?
