It was poor design on their part. The cameras bumps were welded over the back glass surface, so replacing it properly requires a whole new chassis and for every part inside to be moved over. Very labor-intensive and almost never worth doing. They did fix this in the iPhone 14 line. See their own repair pricing of $349 for an iphone 13 vs $159 for an iphone 14. |
