These rants every time a new model iteration comes out reminds me of the large number of users complaining every time an established piece of software releases breaking changes. People understandably don't like having to change their workflows or refactor. The difference with LLM upgrades is that you don't get a changelog, you (probably) don't have unit tests to catch regressions, and if you use a proprietary model you have no reliable way of knowing which exact version of the model you're using or which runtime settings are being used.
