Extreme poverty was 27% vs 10% today.

Literacy has gone up from 82% to 87%.

It's likely those statistics would have been improved even without the invention of the smartphone.
Yeah, it isn't really possible to insert/remove a major development (like smartphones) from history and accurately predict how the world would have or would not have turned out.
