The thing you are missing is that although that doctrine weakens the 4th Amendment, there's no precedent it weakens the first and 5th amendment afaik.

There's no US law requiring key disclosure and there have been mixed court cases outcomes on whether people have to provide encryption keys.

I agree with all of that, but what I saw throughout the thread was many people talking about probable cause and warrants and suspicion.

I would love for that to be the rule at the border just as elsewhere, but it's very far away from what the courts have been saying so far, as well as what CBP has done for many years.
