God, I wish people would stop using that political compass site as the basis for any sort of analysis. It's a useful metaphor, but that specific site and the test on it is complete horseshit designed to make false "both sides are the same" arguments and make anyone left of Pinochet think they're a secret left-libertarian. You can go back and compare their archived "analysis" of 2008 candidates to the one for 2020 and see they peg Biden '20 as more auth-right than the fundamentalist Huckabee '08 campaign, while Biden '08 rates more lib-left than Warren 2020, despite his 2008 run being objectively more centrist. There's a reason their "methodology" is a black box. |
