| ah yes i do recall in 2017 when i did that precisely that job for 3mo as Pillar.VC got off the ground with Parker & Tiff in seaport and we just read tons of random boston little newsletters to "source deals" and "analyze" the internet and find things about "founders" who were just little kids who did nothing and had no good ideas to fund. the fund did well. by well i have no f** clue what IRR was but i took months 3-6 of the internship and finished MIT instead of working the full term of the $5k/mo internship that Jamie Goldstein hired me for. so their headcount and portfolio at least grew beyond Russ Jamie Sarah + interns to a multiple funds thing thing, staple of Boston idk whatever VC on east coast "Big VC" oooo scary it was a waste of time and of the firm's money to do this meaningless "background checks" i'm sure Russ and Sarah and Jamie would tell you the same. they don't regret not working with me longer Parker was the better hire for the firm. haha Tiff has done amazing since. so idk exactly what you mean - what VC and how do they research and what's SignalFire's latest from Andrew Ng at Greenoaks the chess prodigy YC founder who built literally the tool to source AI on the graph of the internet and calibrate founder elo per Sequoia's secret sauce...
