I've never understood how we could put so much bloat behind text and a few images that a modern computer running tens to hundreds of billions of operations per second, with tens to hundreds of billions of bytes of RAM gets outpaced by a 90's computer displaying the same level of multimedia. If a web page doesn't run as well as Encarta '95, it has failed, in my opinion.
