Ask HN: .music Domain Owners – Govt ID is required?

I recently bought a .music domain and when I did in May or June I don't recall my register service saying I will need to upload my government ID.

I have been working on my .music project through this month and was ready to publish it on the web when I received an email from [e-mail] (did research & it looks legit tho maybe not).

I wondered those who have .music domains did you have to do this same thing and or has this email address contacted you later requesting your ID?

Also, I've seen recently AI companies asking for Govt ID to use their services.
