I've noticed a large uptick in websites being more comfortable blatantly lying to visitors recently, where beforehand they'd say something like "for the best experience" or not state a reason at all to try and get you to do what they want. A recent example: if you use a VPN and are signed out, YouTube will occasionally claim you need to sign in to "Protect our community", despite signed out users being unable to affect anything in the first place. |
