i had the exact same takeaway. The sentences dont work without em dashes—they're in fact, unreadable (like if you swapped out the em dash in this sentence with a period). It's extra obvious once you look at OP's blog post history. Earlier ones are riddled with em dashes. Now there's not a single one to be seen. |
