I see. Similar to Balsamico di Modena / generic balsamic vinegar? Does non-PDO Parmesan exist in Italy? In the US, "Parmesan" is usually some kind of domestic hard cheese that lacks maturity. The genuine Parmigiano Reggiano costs around 3x. |
