FDP is unreliable. Twice they walked away from governance responsibility. Olaf Schulz Government fell down because of them. Moreover they don’t have any agenda worth voting.

Greens could be a choice because they had an effective leader in Haebeck and good governance story in a state. But they need to get practical and stop opposing nuclear.

Die Linke is coming up with all sorts of right messages for middle-class but they have a past.

Honestly there is no party which has correctly identified nation’s problems and proposed solutions to public. At best all offer a small increment.

AfD on the other hand, while offering nothing good, has a strong emotive appeal that works on older people, who are major voter base and are unhappy that the society around them is filling with unfamiliar faces or that their pension is lower than social benefits received by refugees. For other voters, voting for AfD is as I said earlier, is just a protest signal.

The problem is economic pie is shrinking because of incompetent leadership in all spheres. The decline is structural and no one has any decent ideas on how to fix it, forget selling the fix to public. The country is raising debt at higher interests that is not being deployed into areas that will generate future returns.

This is a wild claim.

People recognized as refugees get exactly the same welfare as german citizens. Asylum seekers gets less than that and get it partly in kind. Older people who would find themselves with a pension that is too low (because of a short career ?) then they can benefit from social welfare too, like others.

I get your general point but maybe if you want to avoid AfD coming to power don't spread their lies ?

So what you're saying is that AfD is basically the same as all the other parties. Like, you just identified that Die Linke offers nothing good and has a strong emotive appeal to the middle class, but you didn't say it in those words, you said those words about AfD instead. You said Green has emotiove appeal but offers nothing good but is bad because they oppose nuclear, well that is better than AfD which offers nothing good but has emotive appeal but is bad because they oppose people being allowed to exist. So what is the actual difference?

AfD is not the same as other parties. It is a far-far worse thing. Other parties are simply incompetent at both execution and selling, so it leads to inordinate delays when we need fast action.

But whatever their themes we probably want those ideas - renewables, environmental concerns, cost-of-living, worker equality etc. - just with an appropriate dose and at appropriate time. My sphere is too limited to know answers to those questions. But I can see that Greens (esp Habeck) wasted a huge amount of hard-won political capital rooting for heat pumps or on sticking caps with bottles, when we were facing catastrophic effects of a European war.

AfD is selling hatred and once that becomes mainstream, it will take decades before it could be rooted out, if at all. Last time it took a world war and still some of it remained, AfD does not have any ideas on fixing any of the problems.

Heck, no political party has even correctly identified the issues, forget fixing them. Their attitude is to displease existing voter base as little as possible, change as little, which from a politicians perspective is understandable. But from a nations perspective we are losing precious time and squandering our resources.
