I think you are right. But for non-native people this is already true. I feel like I can express myself in English the same as I would do in my native language. Sometimes using AI helps me pick a better word or a better way to phrase it.

I would never use AI to write in my native language though

This is the right way to use it! You're not making it write for you. You are instead using it to help you write your own words. Massively different.
