I don't know about hCaptcha, I tried it out when testing stuff for a websites checkout flow (had card testing spam issues), and they are about the most difficult to solve captchas I've ever done.

I guess there's a low friction mode only available on the $139/mo plan.

Disclaimer: I'm the founder of Friendly Captcha, so I'm very biased.

I agree the hCaptcha challenges are probably the most inaccessible of them all once you are not part of the low friction flow any more. Can we really expect grandma to tell the difference between circuit boards and aerial city photography?

In the future feel free to give Friendly Captcha [0] a try, we only have the low friction mode (on any plan). Our free plan should work for hobby projects, and above that our pricing is in line with competitors. We aim to be the most privacy friendly and accessible option (being the only ones with WCAG AA Gold).. and aside from that just being the one that is the most invisible to genuine users, I think our not-getting-in-the-way actually makes us less known..

Sounds like something a robot would say. Joking aside, I'd rather do a captcha that involves slightly more cognitive effort, rather than get trapped in a reCaptcha loop because I didn't select every last segment of a bicycle.

True, I've been using Turnstile for now and it's nice because it generally doesn't even need the interactive challenge.

hCaptcha? You clearly haven't seen the arkose lab captchas.

I haven't, sounds rough if they're even harder!
