Setting aside how simplistic a simple good/bad scale for any art is, who made a piece of music and what they were expressing with it is absolutely part of the quality consideration.

A big part of music is being able to share it with friends at a party, sing it at Karaoke, see the performer live, follow their story etc. so that I can be a part of some kind of culture.

I’m not looking for an emotional painkiller to keep me subdued and isolated.
