The schematics tell you how things are wired together, which is maybe useful if you are building compatible hardware. The ASIC specifications tell you how to operate and program the chips, which is what device drivers need. Better for Linux would be for Apple to provide open source drivers. (Linux would also benefit if NVIDIA provided open source drivers, for example.) |
