Would you invest in a person with limited knowledge and expertise just because they’re enthusiastic? Might as well hire a literal clown; all the enthusiasm you might want and way cheaper.
Now this is the kind of honest snark I would hire.
Not OP, but overconfidence is not a quality I would invest in.
