It's technically West African Pidgin English, AKA Guinea Coast Creole English, (perhaps) AKA Cameroon Pidgin, which seems to be much the same thing and has an ISO-639 code (wes). IMO if these are all the same language then they should perhaps be dignified with a proper name that doesn't involve the generic term "pidgin". |
