Apparently because the iPhone sold well despite an impossible challenge from Steve Ballmer, any unrelated thing is possible.

Whether I’m right or wrong about how it does doesn’t indicate whether this can be compared to an iPhone. That’s a bizarre comparison. The steam machine, even if it’s very successful, will sell at most a few million units. And that is truly a big “if.” The iPhone sold almost 40mill units in its first 3 years and its value was reality apparent to basically anyone. These aren’t remotely comparable products.
