6to4 wasn't that. 8.8.8.8 didn't get routed to you in v6, instead it went to a relay server that then translated to v4 then sent it to you. And even if you actually owned 8.8.8.8, it didn't give you 8.8.8.8.1 etc, because it was just some bolt-on for transitioning from v4. I just want to own 8.8.8.8(.0.0.0.0) in v6 and that's it, not have my v6 actually be abcd::1234::... I don't think they were dumb, they wanted to start with a clean slate and underestimated the difficulty. |
