Fine, "the right" is not a solid, well-defined group, and s/the right/the GOP/. What upthread wrote is practically the stated position of the GOP (as much as one can delineate the stated position, since the current platform is literally Trump-rambling style writing, complete with caps-lock style screaming…), and it's the political viewpoint, as best as one can determine, of basically all of the GOP's leadership. Insofar as the party stated that to be their platform via direct statement and the words & actions of their leader, and then set of people we might loosely refer to the collective set as "the right" proceeded to then vote for our current president, that vote becomes an endorsement of that platform. Sure, there might be someone on "the right" who doesn't hold that view, but we're in the exception-proves-the-rule territory, or more commonly it seems these days "the leopards are eating my face". |
