There is the long standing problem that if you build a road for others, and others get unfathomably rich using that road, you end up looking pretty dumb.
In fact it used to be that we recognized the usefulness of roads and banded together to fund roads that are specifically there for others to use. Somehow the same is unthinkable for virtual roads.
