In southern california, they have santa ana winds[1], which are often hot and very dry. When I lived there it was pretty unpleasant when they were strong. A hot wind in a place that's much warmer would be a lot of heat stress for people. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Ana_winds |
