The amount of wasted resources in the open source community will never cease to amaze me.

I do understand that's the advantage of open source. But I still think this is a waste of time.

It’s astonishing because we see it. We don’t see the real time wasted in duplicating features in proprietary software because the information is not public. We are now in a very consolidated market, but just imagine how many companies competed for Microsoft Word’s business making word processors from scratch.
