FWIW, there's a Drudge report front-end I attempted a number of years ago. Inactive but archive link in profile. It had 'mouseover titles' and 'popup dots' where articles would open to a popup window. One reason that site's popular is because people just leave it open in a tab and it changes every 135 seconds on auto-refresh.

it makes sense now. Seems sketchy like a porn site model, but for some reason the drudge ads dont even bother me so much. If the site ever gains any traction Ill have to replicate this
